Finding a flat in Munich
Munich has over 100,000 students and a tight housing market. Start looking early and stay flexible on site.
Student halls: at Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern the waiting time starts on the day you apply. First-year students can apply from 15 May for the winter term and from 15 November for the summer term.
Flat shares and rooms: online portals, university noticeboards and schemes such as Wohnen für Hilfe (room in exchange for help) are good places to start.
Beware of scams: never transfer a deposit or rent before you have seen the flat and signed a contract.
40 € per person per night · Bed in a shared room, incl. VAT
